well it's just a 2 step switch like the on off switch on most toys.. i have one on my amd chip it's pretty cool it works like this 1-2-3 so u can just simply move from 1 to 3 in an instant i believe its a slight increase in voltage im guessing.. or u could try with a higher powered batt.. dun forget...
